Mental Health Awareness Outreach at Paddington Station
SheWise Charity Coffee Morning
Our Young Person Counsellor attended the SheWise Charity Coffee Morning in Hounslow, delivering an enlightening presentation on the importance of mental health and counselling. The talk discussed the multifaceted impact of trauma, including its physical, social, psychological, and emotional aspects and emphasized how counselling provides a safe space to express emotions, process trauma, and develop healthy coping mechanisms. The presentation also highlighted the impact of domestic violence on children and the benefits of early intervention services in restoring their sense of safety, enhancing self-esteem, fostering emotional regulation, and modelling healthy relationships.
During the session, participants engaged in a body scan activity to recognize their feelings, followed by a grounding exercise to facilitate the mind-body connection. Group members shared feeling relaxed after the activity. Information was also shared on how EACH supports women and children affected by domestic violence or complex needs with an holistic approach through free counselling sessions and IDVA support, along with details about our referral process.”
